At St Peter’s, every meal shared is an act of grace, a moment to give thanks, to grow together and to flourish in body, mind, and spirit.
School Meals at St Peter’s
At St Peter’s, we believe that healthy, delicious food is an essential part of every child’s school day. We are incredibly proud of the meals we serve, which are freshly prepared on site each day by our talented Head Chef, Chloe and her wonderful team.
Each lunchtime, pupils enjoy a choice of freshly cooked dishes, alongside a vibrant salad bar, fresh fruit, and seasonal vegetables. Our menus run on a three-week rotation, carefully designed to provide a nutritionally balanced diet while encouraging children to try new flavours and ingredients. Themed food days and featured vegetables add excitement and help to develop adventurous, healthy eaters.
Our Partnership with Caterlink
We are delighted to be working in partnership with Caterlink, a specialist education catering company renowned for its commitment to fresh, healthy, and locally sourced food. Caterlink supports more than 1,500 schools nationwide and shares our values around nutrition, sustainability, and food education.
Through this partnership, our pupils benefit from initiatives such as cooking sessions, assemblies on healthy eating and menu tastings designed to ensure children’s voices are at the heart of what we serve.
A Focus on Health, Inclusion, and Sustainability
We cater for all children, including those with special dietary needs, food allergies, and intolerances. Every child enjoys a balanced, thoughtfully prepared lunch that meets their individual requirements.
In support of our environmental goals, we have introduced ‘Meat-Free Monday’ and a new fish dish on Fridays, ensuring that we offer meat on only three days each week. Reducing meat consumption helps us lower our environmental impact alongside promoting positive health benefits.
Our Dining Experience
Lunchtimes at St Peter’s are calm, sociable, and enjoyable. The children eat in three sittings, allowing them to relax and share their meal with friends. Hot food is served directly from our kitchen counters, ensuring meals are warm, fresh and served with a smile.
Continuous Improvement and Engagement
Our School Council regularly meets with Chef Chloe to share feedback and discuss menu ideas, helping us to create meals that children truly enjoy. Parents are also invited to attend tasting events throughout the year to enable them to keep up to date with new dishes, events and healthy-eating initiatives.
We are proud that every child at St Peter’s enjoys a hot, nutritious lunch every day, and we are delighted to have been awarded a 5-star Food Hygiene Rating by the Food Standards Agency.
At St Peter’s, our aim is simple: to educate, promote, and support healthy eating—nourishing our pupils so they can learn, grow and flourish.
