Church inspection (SIAMS) Report
SIAMS
(Statutory Inspecton of Anglican and Methodist Schools)
We are immensely proud that our recent SIAMS Inspection, which took place on Wednesday 21st January 2026, recognised St Peter’s as a school that is “living up to its foundation as a Church school and is enabling pupils and adults to flourish.”
The report affirms that our Christian vision – rooted in the words from Matthew 5:16, “Let your light shine before others” – is not simply a statement, but a lived reality across the school.
In summary the report states that St Peter’s is ‘a highly inclusive and caring school… with a rich, broad and aspirational curriculum… highly effective teaching and learning… and a relentless commitment to giving pupils opportunities to let their light shine’
We feel that this captures the heart of St Peter’s and the dedication and commitment of our whole school community.
The inspection identified a number of notable strengths. Among these, it was recognised that:
- “Through their relentless commitment to giving pupils opportunities to let their light shine, leaders have ensured that the Christian vision is fully embedded across the school… This enables pupils and staff to flourish.”
- “The rich and broad curriculum, rooted in the vision, is aspirational” and offers “a wealth of exciting opportunities to develop pupil confidence.”
- “A highly inclusive and caring school culture supports and nurtures the development of pupils and adults so that they can shine.”
- Partnerships with families, the local church and the diocese are “highly valued and are an expression of the school’s vision.”
- “Religious education (RE) has a very high profile within the school… pupils make very good progress.”
We are especially proud that the process of inspection recognised not only outcomes, but the thoughtful, strategic decisions behind them; the care for staff wellbeing; the strong relationships within our community; and the way pupils are nurtured, encouraged and inspired to flourish academically, spiritually and personally.
As with everything, the outcome of this inspection is due to the dedication, hard work and support of the whole St Peter’s community.
