Pupil Leadership and Voice at St. Peter's
At St Peter’s, we are deeply committed to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to be heard, to influence decisions, and to play an active part in the life of our school community. We believe that empowering children to share their voice fosters confidence, leadership, and a genuine sense of belonging.
Through a range of Ambassador and Council Representative roles, our pupils are encouraged to contribute their ideas about the day-to-day running of the school, suggest ways to enrich our curriculum, and share their individual passions and interests. These roles not only develop personal responsibility and teamwork but also nurture skills in communication, problem-solving, and active citizenship — all of which prepare our pupils to be thoughtful and engaged members of society.
We are proud to offer a variety of pupil leadership opportunities, including:
- RE Ambassadors – Promoting our school’s Christian values, supporting collective worship, and helping to strengthen the spiritual life of our community.
- School Council Representatives – Acting as the voice of their peers, bringing forward ideas and concerns to help improve school life and ensure that every child’s opinion matters.
- House Captains – Leading by example within our house system, encouraging teamwork, sportsmanship, and participation in school events and competitions.
- Sustainability Leads – Championing environmental responsibility by promoting eco-friendly initiatives and helping the school to make more sustainable choices.
Each of these roles plays a vital part in shaping our school’s culture and direction. Our ambassadors and representatives model the values we hold dear at St Peter’s — respect, kindness, service, thankfulness and perseverance.
