Headteacher's Welcome

St. Peter's is a very special one-form entry primary school located between Ravenscourt Park and St Peter’s Square, in the heart of a lively West London community.

As a school, we are immensely proud of our heritage as one of the first charity schools set up in West London.  George Scott, and his daughter Lucy Hannah Scott, realised that there was an acute shortage of even the most basic education for the children of labourers who lived in the district.  The school was opened by Lucy Hannah Scott in 1849 for children of labouring, manufacturing and trading families, in the said Chapel and District of Hammersmith.  Today St Peter’s remains an inclusive school, which continues to serve local families.

At St. Peter’s, we believe passionately that the role of education is to ensure that all children are supported to achieve their full potential academically, whilst also providing them with opportunities and experiences to enable them to discover skills and talents in other areas of the curriculum, such as art, music, sport and drama.  As a voluntary-aided school, we have very strong links with our local church, and place God firmly at the centre of all of our works and endeavours.

Our school community is made up of a highly skilled, motivated and committed staff team, a strong and visionary Governing body, supportive parents and carers, and enthusiastic and highly motivated children, who work together collaboratively to support the school in achieving its vision.  As a reflective school, we are dedicated to ensuring that St. Peter’s continually moves forward, striving to build upon our many successes and achievements, and providing a happy and safe environment in which our children can learn.
